Announcement: Book Promotion “From Bato to Kulin ban” in Breza

The Foundation “Heritage Watchdogs – Bassania” invites all citizens and history enthusiasts to join us in celebrating Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Statehood Day by attending the promotion of the book “From Bato to Kulin ban” by Suad Haznadarević and Emir Medanhodžić.

The event will take place on Thursday, November 27th, 2025, starting at 7:00 PM, at the Public Library “Muhamed Kantardžić” in Breza — the city of Bato.

The book “From Baton to Kulin” by Suad Haznadarević and Emir Medanhodžić tells about the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina from antiquity to the Middle Ages from the perspective of field researchers, covering a period of 1,200 years. The authors also explore Arianism and the Bosnian Church, disputing the theories of polytheism and arguing that the Eastern Goths brought Arianism, which significantly influenced the religious life of Bosnia. An important role was also played by the arrival of Avars and Slavs who contributed to the development of central and local government, while the Franks had an influence during the first Bosnian bans.

Rich photo documentation and a precise journalistic style enable readers to gain a deeper understanding of the social, religious and customary life of that period.

Visitors will have the opportunity to speak with the author, ask questions, and purchase a signed copy of the book at a promotional price of 40 KM. All proceeds from book sales will go to the Foundation “Heritage Watchdogs – Bassania” to support the research, preservation, and promotion of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s cultural heritage.

You are all warmly welcome!
