Mission to Gather Information on Baton of the Dezidii in Ravenna, Italy

The Chairman of the Board of the Foundation “Heritage Watchdogs – Bassania,” Emir Medanhodžić, shared insights from the Foundation team’s recent trip across Italy, with a special focus on the city of Ravenna. The tour also included visits to Bologna, Modena, Imola, and Ancona, with the primary goal of collecting information about Baton of the Dezidii, the prominent leader of the Baton revolt against the Roman Empire.

The Foundation “Heritage Watchdogs – Bassania” extends its gratitude to its donor and friend Edin Garaplija, who financed the entire expedition and also served as the driver during this demanding journey. His support was crucial to the success of the trip, and the Foundation expresses deep appreciation for his contribution.

Chairman Emir Medanhodžić also expressed gratitude to Dr. Radovan Kovačević, a triple PhD in Archaeology and Art History from Inđija, Serbia, whose expert guidance was instrumental in designing and planning the expedition.

The goal of the Foundation “Heritage Watchdogs – Bassania” is for the knowledge and data gathered to contribute to the development of an EU project. The project will explore the lives and achievements of the two Batons – Dezidii and Breuci, Roman generals and leaders of uprisings. Additionally, the initiative aims to strengthen ties between Balkan nations and Italy, building new cultural bridges between these regions.
