The necropolis of medieval tombstones Mramorje, Kaoštice, Raonići village, Višegrad Municipality, is located on a hill by the road, next to a prehistoric tumulus with a diameter of 3.5 m. The road connected the lower Polimlje with the land of Pavlović and was also in use during the Austro-Hungarian reign.
The medieval tombstones are placed in a row from north to south, oriented west to east. Out of a total of 12 medieval tombstones (four slabs, two chests, six gables), three are decorated with motifs such as a zigzag line, a winding vine, a double spiral, a watermill, a crescent moon, a horseman slaying a dragon, a grandfather’s staff and symmetrical spirals.
The monuments are nicely processed, partly sunken or overturned. There is an inscription on one of the tombstones: “A se leži Juraj kod Radoja, svoga gospodičića”.
This necropolis, as well as the tumulus next to it, were declared a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2011.
