The Ninkovići necropolis is located along the Foča–Gacko–Trebinje main road. It consists of over 100 medieval tombstones, including gabled tombstones, chests and slabs.
The medieval tombstones are nicely processed and regularly arranged, but are overgrown, sunken into the ground and covered with moss and leaves. They are decorated with various symbols such as crosses, swords and others.
The site is located along an old road that connected this part of the Sutjeska valley with the wider area. Based on the size and arrangement of the medieval tombstones, it can be assumed that there was once a fortification on the hill above the necropolis, which, together with the old town of Vratar, on the opposite side of the river, controlled the gorge.
