On Sunday, November 17th, the promotion of the book “From Baton to Kulin” took place at the IBC Zurich premises.
The event was opened by Semir ef. Omerčić, the host representative, while Senad Ušanović, who significantly contributed to organizing the event, took on the moderation.
During the presentation, one of the book’s two authors and Chairman of the Foundation “Heritage Watchdogs – Bassania,” Emir Medanhodžić, emphasized the importance of understanding the deeper historical roots of Bosnia, noting that its history does not begin with Ban Kulin but extends back to the period of ancient Rome and the resistance of Baton of Dezius. A special focus of the lecture was on medieval tombstones, as symbols of Bosnian cultural and historical uniqueness.
Medanhodžić shared experiences from field research across Bosnia and Herzegovina, stressing the need to raise awareness about the preservation of cultural heritage.
“The goal of the Foundation and the book is education, promotion, and raising awareness about the lesser-known history of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our country possesses a wealth that deserves to be properly represented and preserved for future generations,” stated Medanhodžić.
The Foundation “Heritage Watchdogs – Bassania” expresses gratitude to the hosts and all attendees for organizing and supporting this event.
