The Varin Brijeg necropolis is located in the village of Gornje Grančarevo near Trebinje. According to the 1971 record by Šefik Bešlagić, it contains over 100 medieval tombstones.
The necropolis is partially overgrown with vegetation, which resulted in some medieval tombstones sinking into the ground. The medieval tombstones are oriented northwest-southeast and belong to the chest and slab types. Decorative motifs include a humanoid cross, a rosette and a crescent moon.
In the immediate vicinity of the necropolis are the remains of the ruined church of St. Barbara and a Muslim graveyard. Illyrian ruins known as Mašina Gradina are located on the hill across the street, as well as an Ottoman tower, which indicates the continuity of settlement of this area from prehistoric times to modern times.
