Mali Gradac, Golubovići – Rogatica

Mali Gradac is an Illyrian hillfort located above the hamlet of Vučkovići, on a low hill in the village of Golubovići, Municipality of Rogatica. This hillfort dates back to the Bronze and/or Iron Age and represents a significant example of the fortification heritage of that period.

The hill on which the hillfort is located has a very steep northern side, which was a natural protection, so there are no additional fortifications on that side. The inner area of the hillfort, measuring 57 x 54 metres, is protected on the remaining sides by a stone rampart.

The entrance to the fort is located at the southeast corner and is made in the form of a corridor, which indicates a thoughtful design for additional security and access control.

Across the street from Mali Grac is Veliki Grad, also an Illyrian hillfort.
