The Foundation “Heritage Watchdogs – Bassania” informs its members, followers, and donors that we are in the final phase of cleaning medieval tombstone necropolises at two important locations.
The first necropolis, Klek in East Sarajevo, is being cleaned under the guidance of our PR officer Feđa Kulina, in cooperation with local residents. This is a very beautiful necropolis containing around 30 medieval tombstones decorated with various motifs, located within an Orthodox cemetery, which had over time become overgrown with vegetation.
The second location, between the villages of Barmiš and Hasanovići in the Konjic municipality, where three separate necropolises are located, is also in the cleaning phase. These works are led by our friend Dževad, together with local residents, and completion is expected by the end of this month. Additionally, the first necropolis Stolovača has already been cleaned.
To further enhance these sites, the Foundation plans to install informational boards and benches, allowing visitors to fully enjoy the beauty of our cultural monuments.
